\r\n\r\nThe main objective of this role is to assume total department accountability for sales, service profitability and loss prevention. To achieve a department environment that fosters creativity and inspires the Urban Outfitters customer. Ensure appropriate feedback and guidance is given in order to execute employee development. To assist senior management with all general store operations that falls within their sphere of responsibility. Participate in building community relationships that directly reflect the Urban culture. To uphold the Urban Outfitters “Peers Teaching Peers” philosophy.\r\n\r\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\r\n\r\nPeople:\r\n\r\nRecruit, motivate, develop and lead a store team\r\nManage all aspects of performance development within the department team (Performance Appraisals, Individual Development Plans, Coaching and Counseling and Disciplinary actions)\r\nRecognise and develop talented individuals for advancement and growth within the organisation\r\nUphold Company standards and act as a positive role model to others\r\n\r\nLeadership and Communication:\r\n\r\nInspire, motivate and encouraging teamwork among the team\r\nConduct productive daily meetings to ensure that goals are met\r\nEffectively delegate projects while at the same time allowing others the creativity to succeed by making their own decisions\r\nPossess excellent communication skills in both written and verbal form\r\n\r\nManaging the Environment:\r\n\r\nOversee all levels of customer service by setting daily goals and expectations to create a positive store environment\r\nExhibit excellent floor presence by training and coaching the store team on customer service, standards, product placement and time management\r\nAchieve Company-average mystery shop results by uphold the Company’s mystery shop standards\r\n\r\nOperations:\r\n\r\nPerform all store-level operational procedures accurately and in a timely fashion, in accordance with all Company policies and procedures\r\nAchieve the store stock loss goals by overseeing adherence to loss prevention practices\r\nAssist in upholding Company Health & Safety regulations at all times in order to protect employees and customers against accidents and incidents\r\n\r\nMerchandising and Display:\r\n\r\nManage all aspects of the assigned department in collaboration with the Visual Merchandising Manager with regard to: training, shipment placement, markdowns, transfers, merchandising and store standards\r\nUnderstand and interpret current fashion trends in local markets in order to generate creative solutions\r\nTake an active role in ensuring floor sets for the department are well organised and scheduled appropriately\r\n\r\nCommercial Awareness:\r\n\r\nMaximise departmental sales through analytical and creative management of merchandise from receipt to sales\r\nUtilise Company reports to react to trends and drive business\r\nStay abreast of current trends and have a sound knowledge of customer profile by keeping up to date with external influences i.e. media and local community\r\nManage stock levels appropriately (taking into consideration the store environment) through the understanding of relevant reports and market trends\r\nDemonstrate entrepreneurial skills to achieve and exceed store targets\r\n\r\nREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE\r\n\r\nExperience in a management role working in a fast paced, high volume fashion retail environment\r\nDemonstrates strong operational skills\r\nAn understanding of the Urban Outfitters culture and its appeal to the local market\r\nAbility to drive sales through excellent service, strong visual presentation, and a full understanding of the business\r\n","jobBenefits":"Competitive hourly salary with fantastic benefits ","employmentType":"FULL_TIME","baseSalary":{"@type":"MonetaryAmount","currency":"GBP","value":null},"datePosted":"2018-08-06 15:18:38","validThrough":"2019-09-21","hiringOrganization":{"@type":"Organization","name":"Urban Outfitters","image":"https:\/\/cdn.3dmarcomms.com\/client_logos\/medium\/eujobs.urbanoutfitters.com.png","logo":"https:\/\/cdn.3dmarcomms.com\/client_logos\/medium\/eujobs.urbanoutfitters.com.png","sameAs":"https:\/\/eujobs.urbanoutfitters.com\/","url":"https:\/\/eujobs.urbanoutfitters.com\/"},"industry":null,"jobLocation":{"@type":"Place","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressLocality":"Brussels"}}} UO - Menswear Department Manager - Brussels Location Brussels Salary Competitive hourly salary with fantastic benefits Job Advert Description JOB PURPOSE
